Red mangrove trees, known as Rhizophora mangle, are being implemented into living shorelines to provide natural protection to coastlines. While they are already being implemented into coastal protection designs, there is little technical guidance for how to actually design mangrove living shorelines for maximum effectiveness. This investigation collected a meta-analysis of past mangrove experiment parameterization to help with next semesters lab testing of model density and trunk layout.
