USNA’s Fifth Annual Conference on Teaching & Learning: Faculty Development Workshops on Online Teaching

Format: All workshops will be held on Google Meet. For most there will be a short presentation followed by Q&A. All sessions will be recorded and made available on the CTL website. Workshop attendance confers permission to record.

  1. Go to the app store for your mobile device and search for “Socrative Student”.  For the purposes of this presentation, you will be the student.  It will look something like:

  3. During the presentation open the app and it will prompt you for a room number.  I will provide the room number in the presentation.

Open Educational Resources, commonly referred to as OERs, are course materials that are available freely online for faculty to adopt or adapt for use in their courses.  This presentation will provide an overview of OERs, explain how they can benefit students and faculty, discuss some of the challenges OER adoption, and arm attendees with search tools and techniques to find OERs for their courses.  Faculty can sign up for OER consultations with the presenters following the presentation.
