Chaplain Jason A. Gregory
Chaplain Gregory is a Tennessee native. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, and a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America.
Commissioned as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in 2007, Chaplain Gregory received orders to the Surface Force Ministry Center at Naval Base San Diego. While there, he deployed aboard USS BOXER (LHD 4) during Operation Continuing Promise, USS ANTIETAM (CG 54) during a WESTPAC deployment, and USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52) during Operation Unified Response in support of JTF Haiti.
In 2011, he received orders to 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton where he served the Marines of Combat Logistics Battalion-1. He deployed to Camp Dwyer in the Helmand Province in support of OEF 11-2.
From 2013-2015, LCDR Gregory served as the Command Chaplain at Training Support Center (TSC), San Diego, followed by assignment as the Deputy Command Chaplain at Naval Base San Diego from 2015-2016. He then served in USS JOHN P MURTHA (LPD 26) from 2016-2018 as the plankowner Command Chaplain.
He reported to the United States Naval Academy in October of 2018 as the Assistant Command Chaplain.
Chaplain Gregory’s personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards) and the Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He has also earned the Fleet Marine Force qualification.
