Chaplain Timothy Miller
Chaplain Miller is an Oregon Native. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry/Biblical Studies from Northwest Christian University, and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Chaplain Miller is Anglican belongs to the Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy.
In 2009, Chaplain Miller was commissioned a Lieutenant Junior Grade, and reported to 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. While assigned to 1st Marine Division, Chaplain Miller deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon re-deployment, Chaplain Miller served as the Battalion Chaplain for 1st Battalion, 11th Marines.
Chaplain Miller reported to Naval Station Rota, Spain in June 2012. As a Staff Chaplain, LT Miller provided Religious Ministry and Pastoral Care to the Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Soldiers and dependents stationed in Rota, support for the Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF), Naval Hospital Rota, and National Support Elements in Valencia, Madrid, and Lisbon Portugal.
In 2015, LT Miller reported to USS SOMERSET (LPD 25) in San Diego, CA. While assigned to USS SOMERSET, Chaplain Miller completed a deployment to the 7th and 5th Fleet areas of responsibility, and a follow-on deployment to the 4th Fleet area of responsibility in support of UNITAS.
Chaplain Miller received orders to the United States Naval Academy and reported in April 2018 as 3rd Battalion Chaplain and 1st Regiment Chaplain.In October 2020, Chaplain Miller was called upon to serve as the Operations Chaplain in the USNA Chaplain Center.
Chaplain Miller is a Fleet Marine Force Qualified Officer. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of third award), Navy Achievement Medal, with other campaign and service awards.
