Effective October 1, 2018, weddings at the U.S. Naval Academy will be supported by the Naval Academy Business Services Division (NABSD) for a fee. Accordingly, NABSD (a non-appropriated funded instrumentality) will assume responsibilities for scheduling, rehearsal, vehicle access, and various other event related actions. For weddings scheduled on or after October 1, 2018, NABSD will assess a fee for service rendered, as appropriate. The eligibility guidelines for chapel usage remain the same, and the USNA Chaplain Center will continue to provide the marriage preparation guidance and requirements, often faith-specific, for weddings at the various USNA chapels. For more information, please e-mail the wedding scheduler.
Weddings to be conducted in the United States Naval Academy Chapel are scheduled no more than one year in advance. Persons desiring to be married in the Chapel must have completed pre-marital counseling prior to the wedding.
Use of the Chapel for weddings is limited to Naval Academy alumni, military staff and faculty members; active-duty military members assigned to Naval Support Activity Annapolis and active-duty military personnel living in the immediate vicinity of the Chapel who also regularly attend Chapel services.
Arrangements for pre-marital counseling for Naval Academy alumni should be coordinated directly with the Academy chaplain assigned. In most cases, pre-marriage counseling for couples residing outside the immediate vicinity of Annapolis should be arranged by the individual couple at their local chapel or synagogue (a certificate of completion will be required).

Questions often arise concerning ceremonial swords, their wear, and conducting a sword arch. Marine Corps Order 5060.20, The Marine Corps Drill and Ceremonies Manual, can be extremely helpful as you plan your special day. Please read through chapter 5, the Sword Manual, in order to familiarize yourself with it. This same instruction should prove just as useful to Navy Officers and NCO's as it does Marine Corps Officers and NCO's as they prepare for their wedding. Part 1 of the instruction is included below:
