Senior Chief Plummer reported for active duty at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in April 2001. After completion of Basic Training, she attended Cryptologic Technician Communications (CTO) “A” school in Pensacola, FL. She reported to her first command, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Washington, DC, from January 2002 to January 2004. While serving in the Communications/Message Center, she was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class.
January 2004 to April 2005, Senior Chief Plummer was stationed at Navy Research Lab, Classic Wizard program in Potomac, DC and deployed to Diego Garcia. She was promoted to the rank of Second Class Petty Officer. April 2005 she reported back to Pensacola, FL for Cryptologic Technician Collections (CTR) “A” and “C” schools. Upon completion she was selected for PRECOM Unit USS GRIDLEY (DDG-101) in San Diego, CA; from Dec 2005-2008 where she became a Plank-owner. She was the first Sailor to earn Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and obtained the rank of First Class Petty Officer. She was chosen for a Hull swap to USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG-62) as OT Division Leading Petty Officer.
In route to Direct Support Air, NIOC GA., she attended Aircrew and Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) schools. From April 2009 to March 2012; she accrued 1900 flight hours during 200 flights onboard EP-3E aircraft over Afghanistan, Iraq, Columbia, Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. She was recognized as one of four Navy-wide Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Evaluators. A major milestone in her career, she was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer and was honored to attend Heritage week onboard USS CONSTITUTION. During her tour in Georgia, she earned her Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist, Aviation Warfare Specialist and Information Warfare designations.
April 2012- June 2014, she served onboard USS FARRAGUT (DDG-99) as Leading Chief Petty Officer for OT Division. She completed a ten month deployment and qualified Surface Warfare Coordinator (SUWC) and Combat Information Center Watch Officer (CICWO) to ensure mission and combat readiness. During her tour she earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison University, served as the Command Managed Equal Opportunity representative and Education Services Officer. Prior to transferring, she was promoted to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
August 2014-May 2017, Senior Chief Plummer served as the Department Leading Chief Petty Officer for Fleet/Officer training and Cryptologic Technician Collections “A” and “C” schools. She qualified as an Instructor for SSEE Increment-F Collection system and Afloat Cryptologic Manager Courses of Instruction; training all LCPOs and DIVOs at Sea. She earned her Master Training Specialist and served as the CPOA President and CPO-365 Chair.
June 2017, Senior Chief Plummer attended Recruit Division Commander School, at Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation, she reported to the United States Naval Academy as the 24th Company Senior Enlisted Leader.
Senior Chief Plummer’s personal decorations include the Air Medal (7th Strike Flight); Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7).
