Chief Robert J. Green checked into the United States Naval Academy in January 2019 and is assigned as the 25th Company Senior Enlisted Leader.
He enlisted in the Navy from Arvada, Colorado, attending Basic Training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL February 2007.
Following Recruit Training, he was stationed at Pensacola FL for Naval Aircrew Candidate School, followed by AT “A” school. Upon completion of “A” school, he transferred to Patrol Squadron Thirty (VP-30) in Jacksonville, FL for training to qualify as an In-Flight Technician (IFT) in the P3 Orion aircraft.
He checked into Special Projects Patrol Squadron Two (VPU-2) at Kaneohe Bay, HI, in July 2008. While there, he completed 11 detachments in four areas of operation qualifying as a Special Projects In-Flight Technician, Sensor Operator, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) and Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare (EIDWS). During his time at VPU-2, he served as NATOPS LPO, Positional NATOPS Evaluator and various collateral duties which led to him being meritoriously promoted to Petty Officer First Class by the Commanding Officer.
In August 2013, he checked into Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) located in Virginia Beach, VA. During his time at NSWDG, he served as an Unmanned Aerial Systems Pilot and systems operator, developing new Tactics and Techniques for Naval Special Warfare. He deployed four times in support of a Joint Task Force supporting Overseas Contingencies. He qualified as a UAS Mission Commander and Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist (EXW) and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer on Sept 2017.
Chief Green’s personal awards include: Air Medal (Seven Awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Two Awards), and various service, unit and campaign awards.
