Senior Chief Steven M. Rinkavage is assigned as the 25th Company Senior Enlisted Leader at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD.
Senior Chief Rinkavage enlisted in the Navy from Winston-Salem, North Carolina attending basic training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, IL 26January 2000.
Following Recruit Training, Seaman Recruit Rinkavage reported to Seaman “ATD” School in Great Lakes, IL. Follow on tours include:
USS Simpson (FFG56) Earning Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) and completed one Mediterranean/Persian Gulf Deployment. Upon Completion of the six month deployment he attended Hospital Corpsman “A” School, Graduating in May 2001.
Naval Medical Center Portsmouth where he was promoted to HM3 Jan 2003 and attended Auxiliary Security Force School. He then attended SERE School in May 2003 in route to Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman School (SWCC) graduating Class 45 in Aug 2003 and STAR promoted to HM2. He attended Field Medical Service School (FMSS) graduating November 2003.
Special Boat Team 20 Earning SWCC Warfare Pin, Deployed multiple times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2004 Olympics, Operation Enduring Freedom, attended U. S. Army Airborne Jump School graduating June 2006, and attended Special Operations Combat Medic School graduating March 2006.
Special Boat Team Twenty Two where he completed a combat deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and promoted to SB1.
HM1 Rinkavage then attended Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman School graduating with Honors in June 2008. He then attended U. S. Navy Dive School graduating “Honor Graduate” November 2008.
Naval Hospital Corps School assigned as “A” School instructor he earned Master Training Specialist and Promoted to Chief Petty Officer.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Two assigned as Senior Medical Department Representative, deployed in support of Combined Task Force 56 CENTCOM AOR and earned Expeditionary Warfare Specialist (EXW).
Naval Special Warfare Group One assigned as the Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor, deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer June 2014, and attended Senior Enlisted Academy Class 199 graduating Aug 2016. He then attended Recruit Division Commander “C” School in August 2017 in route to the United States Naval Academy.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon and various unit commendations and service/campaign awards.
