Commissioning Week

Commissioning Week for Class of 2021

May 21st - 28th

Graduation Ceremony: Friday, May 28

The U.S. Naval Academy is pleased to announce that select Commissioning Week events for the Class of 2021 will be held in person, culminating with a graduation and commissioning ceremony at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Friday, May 28.

Graduation Tickets Update - May 18, 2021
Due to recent changes in state and local COVID-19 capacity restrictions,  the U.S. Naval Academy has expanded the number of tickets to the Class of 2021 Graduation and Commissioning Ceremony from six to eight tickets per midshipman.
  • This expansion does not equal a broader opening of attendees.
  • Mask wear will comply with the Governor and County Executive’s directives at the time of graduation.
  • Due to our inability to know immunization status, social distancing will still be practiced in stadium seating.
  • This modification does not correlate to increased access to the yard during Commissioning Week.

In an effort to maintain as much of a traditional Commissioning Week experience as possible for Class of 2021, a limited number of guests per member of the Class of 2021 will be invited to the Yard to attend select Commissioning Week events in the lead up to graduation.

Based on the event venue, we expect to be able to accommodate two to four guests per Class of 2021 midshipman throughout the week.

Access to the Yard during Commissioning Week will be restricted to invited Naval Academy and Class of 2021 guests and authorized personnel only.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer an in-person celebration of Class of 2021's hard work and accomplishments over the last four years with their families here in Annapolis.

We tried to preserve as many of the events that graduating midshipmen and their families look forward to as part of Commissioning Week while also prioritizing the health and safety of our soon-to-be graduates and their families, as well as our local community.

We look forward to welcoming the families of the Class of 2021 to Annapolis in May for this joyous occasion.
- Superintendent Vice Adm. Sean Buck.
