Mobile Agents and Networks Group

Faculty in the Mobile Agents and Networks Group work on problems that lie at the intersection of communications, sensing, and control, particularly in systems of mobile agents. From flying drones to wheeled ground vehicles, the use of mobile autonomous agents in contexts as diverse as environmental sensing and battlefield surveillance is growing rapidly, and this lab group seeks to provide tools and collaboration opportunities for exploring fundamental principles of communication and control in such systems. Lab space is currently being established in Rickover 3 for use in faculty research and associated Midshipman projects, and future lab equipment will include a camera-based motion tracking system as well as wheeled Turtlebot mobile robots. Midshipmen who are interested in potential Capstone, independent study, or Bowman/Trident projects should contact one of the faculty associated with the lab.
