Mission Statement

The mission of the ECE department is to provide Midshipmen with a state-of-the-art education in electrical and computer engineering and develop them into resilient leaders who can work collaboratively, analyze problems critically, and generate innovative solutions for the Navy and Marine Corps.

We achieve the mission through five key principles (ECE IS):

Excellence: We maintain the highest standards in pedagogy and scholarship to ensure a rigorous educational experience for all midshipmen
Collaboration: We prioritize approachability to build mutually supportive relationships between midshipmen and faculty
Engagement: We encourage active participation by midshipmen and faculty to create opportunities in research, extracurricular, and professional activities
Innovation: We leverage state-of-the-art technologies and pedagogy in teaching and scholarship to facilitate creative problem solving
Service: We lead by collectively taking responsibility, each sharing their unique perspective in order to foster a thriving community

Both the Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CE) programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) under the Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Computer Engineering programs criteria.
