    • Teaching a 3/3 load, including one Upper Division section and two Introduction to Literature and Rhetoric (the freshman writing seminar) sections. During the summer semester, I teach one Upper Division section and one high school summer seminar, both of which are three weeks long.
  • 1999-Present  Navy SEAL                                                                                      United States Navy
    • Plan, coordinate, command, control, train, equip, and conduct special operations around the world. Duties include open and closed circuit SCUBA diving, parachuting, and demolition of explosives during SEAL operations.

    • A study of the novel and short story with particular emphasis on the conventions, techniques, and innovations in the form. This course looks closely at a number of “Lost Generation” authors, including Gertrude Stein and her circle in Paris.

    • Hybrid course on learning how to conduct research and write a scholarly paper, and introducing students to structures of various short stories and plays.

    • Summer seminar on a study of film in conjunction with relevant literary works. This course looks closely at film adaptations from the works of William Shakespeare to Cormac McCarthy.
