Mr. Jonathan Gensler

Jon Gensler is a Consultant with CLA and long-time leadership practitioner, with a professional career spanning the globe in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.  In his current role, Jon focuses on bringing to life the tools and frameworks of adaptive leadership for organizations struggling to thrive under emerging energy, sustainability, and regulatory paradigms. His client work includes work with CNA (Center for Naval Analysis), M&T Bank, the National Park Service, the US Business Council for Sustainable Development, and the National Association of Counties.

Prior to joining CLA, Jon served as an active duty officer in the US Army, twice deploying to the Middle East as a combat troop Platoon Leader, and earning a Bronze Star Medal. Since departing the Army, his work has focused on leading sales and business development efforts for clean energy technology companies in the private sector and commercialization efforts for new technologies while working at the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E).  On the non-profit side, Jon is a Fellow with the Truman National Security Project and co-founded one of the nation’s first “branch” offices of the US Green Building Council in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley.

He is a graduate of United States Military Academy at West Point, and holds graduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
