USNA and MDC
Founded in 1845 along the Severn River in Annapolis, MD, the United States Naval Academy (USNA) is one of five federal Service Academies, and our students are Midshipmen. The mission of the USNA is to develop Midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically and to imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, honor, and loyalty in order to graduate leaders who are dedicated to a career of naval service and have potential for future development in mind and character to assume the highest responsibilities of command, citizenship, and government.
The Midshipmen Development Center (MDC) is the student counseling center for the Naval Academy. Its mission is to promote and enhance the adjustment, well-being, and professional development of Midshipmen, and to provide psychological consultation and training to the Naval Academy staff responsible for Midshipmen development.
