Carly Hunt Rietschel, MA
Carly is a sport psychology extern at the MDC and is currently completing her doctoral degree in counseling psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. In 2011 she completed her master’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Maryland, during which she worked on several research projects investigating (a) the psychological processes facilitating elite athletic performance, and (b) the mental health benefits of exercise. Prior to entering graduate school, she worked in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, where she coordinated a research program examining the psychological factors promoting successful recovery from traumatic injury. Her interest in sport psychology originated while playing NCAA Division I golf as an undergraduate at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
