Dakota Gillmore, M.A., 1LT, USA
1LT Dakota Gillmore, MSC, USA is a clinical psychology doctoral candidate at the Uniformed Services University (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. He comes to the MDC after completing doctoral-level training at the Naval Health Clinic Annapolis and the National Institute of Mental Health. As a clinician, 1LT Gillmore utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach that is integrated with other therapeutic modalities to best meet the needs of the individual.
Prior to attending USUHS, 1LT Gillmore earned his M.A. in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. During this time, he was a graduate assistant with the Center for Sport and Performance Psychology and worked closely with individuals and teams across multiple sports and settings. Although he is comfortable working with performers across domains, 1LT Gillmore has a special passion for running sports after competing in NCAA DIII track and field.
1LT Gillmore also has prior-enlisted military experience as a U.S. Army Reserve behavioral health technician. He was assigned to a Combat and Operational Stress Control (COSC) Detachment out of Fort Snelling, MN where he received specialized training in suicide prevention, deployment support, and combat stress mitigation.
