LT Zaver D. Moore, Psy.D, USN, M.A.

Originally‌ ‌from‌ ‌Tennessee,‌ ‌LT‌ ‌Zaver‌ ‌Moore‌ ‌earned‌ ‌his‌ ‌Bachelor‌ ‌of‌ ‌Science‌ ‌in‌ ‌Psychology‌ ‌and‌ ‌Master‌ ‌of‌ 
Arts‌ ‌in‌ ‌Experimental‌ ‌Psychology‌ ‌from‌ ‌Middle‌ ‌Tennessee‌ ‌State‌ ‌University‌ ‌(MTSU).‌ ‌During‌ ‌both‌ ‌degree‌ 
programs,‌ ‌his‌ ‌training‌ ‌focused‌ ‌on‌ ‌health‌ ‌disparities‌ ‌and‌ ‌mental‌ ‌health‌ ‌service‌ ‌delivery.‌ ‌During‌ ‌a‌ ‌gap‌ 
year,‌ ‌he‌ ‌worked‌ ‌at‌ ‌a‌ ‌residential‌ ‌treatment‌ ‌center‌ ‌focused‌ ‌on‌ ‌providing‌ ‌mental‌ ‌health‌ ‌services‌ ‌to‌ 
male-identifying‌ ‌children‌ ‌ages‌ ‌eight‌ ‌to‌ ‌17‌ ‌years‌ ‌old‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌history‌ ‌of‌ ‌sexual‌ ‌abuse.‌ ‌LT‌ ‌Moore‌ ‌then‌ ‌went‌ 
on‌ ‌to‌ ‌earn‌ ‌his‌ ‌Master‌ ‌of‌ ‌Science‌ ‌and‌ ‌Doctor‌ ‌of‌ ‌Psychology‌ ‌degrees‌ ‌in‌ ‌Clinical‌ ‌Psychology‌ ‌at‌ ‌Nova‌ 
Southeastern‌ ‌University‌ ‌(NSU).‌ ‌His‌ ‌focus‌ ‌was‌ ‌on‌ ‌health‌ ‌psychology,‌ ‌substance‌ ‌abuse,‌ ‌and‌ ‌veteran‌ 
healthcare.‌ ‌While‌ ‌at‌ ‌NSU,‌ ‌he‌ ‌worked‌ ‌as‌ ‌an‌ ‌Assistant‌ ‌Area‌ ‌Coordinator‌ ‌within‌ ‌the‌ ‌residential‌ ‌and‌ ‌housing‌ 
office,‌ ‌served‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌Tobacco‌ ‌Treatment‌ ‌Specialist,‌ ‌and‌ ‌received‌ ‌the‌ ‌opportunity‌ ‌to‌ ‌serve‌ ‌as‌ ‌the‌ ‌university’s‌ 
Graduate‌ ‌Assistant‌ ‌for‌ ‌Student‌ ‌Counseling‌ ‌Services.‌ ‌In‌ ‌this‌ ‌role,‌ ‌he‌ ‌provided‌ ‌collaborative‌ ‌clinical‌ 
services‌ ‌to‌ ‌undergraduate‌ ‌and‌ ‌graduate‌ ‌students,‌ ‌served‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌guest‌ ‌lecturer‌ ‌for‌ ‌mental‌ ‌health‌ ‌and‌ 
wellness‌ ‌topics,‌ ‌consulted‌ ‌with‌ ‌academic‌ ‌and‌ ‌student‌ ‌life‌ ‌department‌ ‌heads‌ ‌regarding‌ ‌student‌ ‌mental‌ 
health‌ ‌concerns,‌ ‌and‌ ‌hosted‌ ‌several‌ ‌interactive‌ ‌campus‌ ‌events‌ ‌during‌ ‌his‌ ‌two-year‌ ‌tenure.‌ 
LT‌ ‌Moore‌ ‌commissioned‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌US‌ ‌Navy‌ ‌in‌ ‌July‌ ‌2020‌ ‌via‌ ‌the‌ ‌APA-accredited‌ ‌Navy‌ ‌Clinical‌ ‌Psychology‌ 
Internship‌ ‌Program.‌ ‌His‌ ‌first‌ ‌duty‌ ‌station‌ ‌was‌ ‌at‌ ‌Walter‌ ‌Reed‌ ‌National‌ ‌Military‌ ‌Medical‌ ‌Center‌ ‌under‌ 
NMRTC‌ ‌Bethesda‌ ‌in‌ ‌Bethesda,‌ ‌Maryland.‌ ‌As‌ ‌a‌ ‌Clinical‌ ‌Psychology‌ ‌Resident,‌ ‌his‌ ‌training‌ ‌consisted‌ ‌of‌ ‌work‌ 
within‌ ‌an‌ ‌outpatient‌ ‌mental‌ ‌health‌ ‌clinic,‌ ‌pain‌ ‌psychology‌ ‌and‌ ‌behavioral‌ ‌sleep‌ ‌medicine‌ ‌clinics,‌ ‌a‌ 
women’s‌ ‌health‌ ‌clinic,‌ ‌an‌ ‌inpatient‌ ‌hospitalization‌ ‌unit,‌ ‌and‌ ‌a‌ ‌medical‌ ‌consultation-liaison‌ ‌service.‌ ‌His‌ 
doctoral‌ ‌research‌ ‌focused‌ ‌on‌ ‌health‌ ‌conditions‌ ‌with‌ ‌comorbid‌ ‌mental‌ ‌health‌ ‌concerns,‌ ‌and‌ ‌his‌ 
dissertation‌ ‌focused‌ ‌on‌ ‌trends‌ ‌of‌ ‌doctoral-level‌ ‌psychologists‌ ‌seeking‌ ‌board‌ ‌certification‌ ‌during‌ ‌their‌ 
career‌ ‌tenure.‌ ‌Post-internship,‌ ‌LT‌ ‌Moore‌ ‌now‌ ‌serves‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌Clinical‌ ‌Psychologist‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Midshipmen‌ 
Development‌ ‌Center‌ ‌at‌ ‌USNA.‌
