Just-in-time review of pre-calculus topics in Calculus ILinda ShivokTime: 12:00 PM
View Abstract
Thesis: The precalculus reviewed in the first two weeks of Calculus is not effective. Students either already know it and are bored, or they don't know it but it moves too fast for them to learn it. Proposed solution: Cover necessary precalculus topics in a just-in-time mode, interspersed with the Calculus I topics. This seminar will be composed of a short presentation followed by ample time for discussion of pros, cons, and possible modifications.
