General Science Objectives and Outcomes
USNA graduates in General Science are able to:
- communicate clearly and effectively, in plain English and with technical precision (“Communication (Oral and Written)”),
- recognize and recall information from a broad range of mathematical and scientific disciplines, including physics, oceanography, biology, computer science, mathematics and operations research (“The ‘Basics’”),
- interpret and appropriately use scientific and mathematical ideas, including interdisciplinary work, using cross-disciplinary skill sets (“Analysis”), and
- determine whether arguments are valid and conclusions reasonable (“Evaluation”).
