Naval Academy Gate 1 to Reopen Thursday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Naval Academy’s Gate 1 (at the intersection of King George and Randall Streets) will reopen Thursday, Oct. 9 with normal operating hours. Gate 3 (at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Hanover Street) will also return to normal operating hours that day.

Gate schedules are:

Gate 1:

Vehicles:

  • Sunday – Thursday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.    

Pedestrians:

  • Sunday – Thursday from 5 a.m. – midnight
  • Friday – Saturday from 5 a.m. – 2 a.m.

Gate 3:

Vehicles:

  • Monday – Friday INBOUND ONLY from 6-9 a.m.
  • Monday – Friday OUTBOUND ONLY from 3-6 p.m.
  • There is no vehicle access through Gate 3 Saturday and Sunday

     Pedestrians:

  • Sunday – Thursday from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Friday – Saturday from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Normal visiting hours are between sunrise and sunset or 5 p.m., whichever is later.  All visitors 18 and older must show a government issued picture ID. Only vehicles with a Department of Defense or USNA credentialed driver or passenger are permitted to drive onto the academy grounds.
