From a pool of approximately 1000 essays 10 were chosen for this special honor. Two, one from the Fall 2018 term, and one from Spring 2019 were chosen as the William Lawrence Ethics Essay Award Winners.
MIDN Adam Kuper received the Fall term prize and Justin Rosas earned the Spring term award.
In addition, Dr. Christine Copper was awarded the Larson Award for exceptional leadership by faculty or staff, for her life of dedication to the Naval Academy. The inaugural Rubel award for exceptional instructor in the 3rd Class Ethics Course was given to Capt. Tom Robertson.
The Award is named to honor Capt. Rick Rubel, USN (Ret.) the creator of the 3rd Class ethics course from which these essays are chosen.
