Sea Level Rise Expert Visits for Bock Memorial Lecture

Midshipmen in the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering visited with a world renown oceanographer and leading expert on sea level rise. Mr. John Englander has over 30 years experience in both the private and non-profit sectors. As the Founder of the Rising Seas Group, Mr. Englander works with all stakeholders to understand the effects and risks of sea level rise and the need for "intelligent adaptation."
The visit included lunch, a presentation and discussion. Midshipmen left with a greater understanding of the engineering, social, and economic challenges of the coming decades.
The Bock Memorial Lecture Series is made possible by an endowment in honor of the late Professor Emeritus Arthur E. Bock, Chairman, Dept. of Naval Engineering at USNA. The lecture series supports academic excellence by inviting world-renowned personalities who have made substantial contributions to the disciplines of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering.
