POSTED ON: Wednesday, March 15, 2017 8:00 AM by Angela Moran

Twenty scientists, engineers, and technologists at Naval Station Great Lakes joined 15 teachers from their local school districts to share a "Best Practices in STEM Education and Outreach" workshop held on March 15 at Naval Station Great Lakes in the North Chicago area of Illinois. Rachel Fees, Angela Moran and Patrick Moran represented the USNA STEM Center and offered hands-on sessions in fluids and aviation, circuits and sensors, corrosion, mechanics and materials, and engineering design. The one-day workshop was part of a series of workshops, sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, with a focus on building STEM communities in locales near Navy populations and those underserved in STEM education.
