Another Best Practices in STEM Outreach Workshop was held at USNA on October 27, 2017, this time for museum educators. The full day workshop, presented by the USNA STEM Center and sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, provided a forum to explore hands-on curriculum ideas for STEM outreach across a range of Naval-relevant topic areas including corrosion, electricity and magnetism, cyber, and robotics.
One of many in the series of workshops for informal educators involved in Naval STEM outreach, this training focused on presenting topics blending current technology with historical developments. Museum educators attending included representatives from the USS Hornet Museum, the USS Turner Joy Museum, the Submarine Force Museum, the Independence Seaport Museum, and the SS John W. Brown Liberty Ship.
