The USNA STEM Center partnered with Maryland Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) to provide an Interactive STEM Day virtual program for over 125 students on February 3 and 9. Students came from elementary schools in a number of Maryland counties that participate in MESA clubs. The STEM Day is a collaborative program offered annually at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. Fifteen midshipmen volunteered at the interactive, virtual events, leading students in hands-on STEM activities using household supplies. Midshipmen introduced students to principles of flight and engineering design challenges, connecting the content to real-world applications.
