The Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition’s STEM Expo 2021 was held in-person in the Washington, DC region on August 1, and is the largest maritime exposition in the U.S. that seeks to unite the U.S. defense industry and military decision-makers for educational sessions, policy discussions and exhibitions.
Sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, the USNA STEM Center manned a double-booth of hands-on STEM activities that included Robotics and Sea Perch, Electricity and Magnetism, Fluid Dynamics, Hydraulics, and Applied Mathematics. USNA STEM faculty and staff, Joe McGettigan, Mark Murray, Christine Maceo and Lou Cox, along with STEM TADs Tom Dias and Jennifer Iniguez, delivered the science and engineering principles behind the activities for event participants and families. The STEM Expo drew a sold-out crowd of 2300 participants.
Sea-Air-Space is produced by the Navy League, an organization that raises awareness of the sea services in the US, including the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.
