Lloyd Crow Stark was born November 23rd 1886 in Louisiana, Missouri. He attended Missouri public schools and graduated from USNA in 1908. He served in the Navy for 4 years,[1] following which he worked for Stark Brothers Nurseries, his family's business, which is famous for its Red and Golden Delicious Apples.[2] During WWI he served in the Army. He fought in Northern France, attaining the rank of Major. A democrat, he was elected Governor of Missouri in 1937 and held that position until 1941. He died September 17th 1972.[1]
