Learning Objectives for the Political Science Major
1. Understand, analyze, and apply theory and the professional literature to the three principal substantive fields of political science: American Politics and Law, International Relations and National Security, and Comparative Politics and Regional Studies.
3. Understand, interpret, and be able to analyze the significance of political phenomena in the U.S. domestic, foreign, and international arenas.
4. Understand and appreciate the ethical and legal implications of political and military actions.
5. Be able to communicate theoretical, qualitative and quantitative empirical, and normative concepts effectively in both speech and writing.
