Strategic Initiative: Athletic Facilities Excellence
Project: Crew Facility / Hubbard Hall Renovation to provide a more modern, safe and expanded rowing, training and storage environment for a mixed gender rowing program
Project Task:
- Renovate Hubbard Hall with a state-of-the-art rowing facility capable of meeting the expanded needs of a mixed gender, Division I, rowing program
- Design will incorporate:
- locker rooms
- weight rooms
- ergometer areas
- rowing tank(s)
- office space
- meeting rooms
- docking space
- storage space to accommodate a program that is four times larger than it was when the building was erected in 1930
- Renovate/relocate "N" Room in concert with building renovation
Expected Outcome/Benefit:
- Meet Title IX gender equity standards
- Provide a modern, state-of-the-art rowing facility which will accommodate three rowing teams and will correct current deficiencies related to:
- structural deterioration
- inadequate ventilation
- inadequate office and locker space
- outdated equipment
- Enhance the physical mission and recruiting image of the US Naval Academy
