Aviation Selection Test Battery

The Jan 31 (Topic: Math) Rickover 102 session 1900-2200 was rescheduled to Feb 9 due to instructor obligations.

The Aviation-Selection Test Battery is used by the Navy Personnel Command (NPC) and the Commandant of the Marine Corps to select candidates for the Navy and Marine Corps pilot and flight officer programs.

The ASTB test is scored by using four different sections:

Academic Qualifications Rating (AQR)
Pilot Flight Aptitude Rating (PFAR)
Flight Officer Aptitude Rating (FOFAR)
Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR)

Professional Development will be sponsoring an ASTB Prep Course, twice a month. The first session of the month will focus on the aviation specific aspects of the exam.  The second session each month will help hone midshipmen in on their math skills.
