Musician 1st Class Donald Creech
Musician 1st Class Donald Creech is from Dacula, Georgia. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and a master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He has also studied and completed doctoral coursework at the University of Georgia.
Creech's orchestral experience includes performances with the Huntsville Symphony, Sewanee Symphony, Murfreesboro Symphony, and Fairfax Symphony. He won his first tenure track position as 2nd trumpet of the Knoxville Symphony, where he played the entire 2014-2015 season.
After one season in Knoxville, he was the winner of an international audition to become a member of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra, a full-time professional orchestra based in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. While in Japan, Creech performed and studied with top orchestral players from all over Europe and Japan, including members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, North German Radio Symphony, and Tokyo Symphony.
In 2016, Creech auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following recruit training at RTC, Great Lakes, he reported for duty as trumpeter with the marching band, brass quintet, and ceremonial units. He also serves as Librarian Assistant.
