Musician 1st Class Erin Ostrowski
Flute ~ Piccolo
Musician 1st Class Erin Ostrowski is a native of Topeka, Kansas. She earned a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from the University of North Texas where she studied with Dr. Mary Karen Clardy. She then spent a year studying with Dr. Bradley Garner at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Ostrowski’s professional experience includes serving as piccoloist with the Irving Symphony, Northern Kentucky Symphony and the University of North Texas Faculty Chamber Winds. She can be heard as a featured piccolo soloist on the University of North Texas Wind Symphony recording of “Luminaries” under the direction of Eugene Corporon.
In 1997, Ostrowski auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following recruit training at RTC, Great Lakes, she reported for duty as piccoloist with the marching band and ceremonial units. She also plays flute with the Wind Quintet.
Ostrowski has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 awards), Navy Good Conduct Award (6 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Navy Accession Training Service Ribbon.
