Chief Musician Jessica Privler
A native of Sterling, Virginia, Chief Musician Jessica Privler graduated from Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in 2002, and a Master of Music in 2003. She also attended Boston University. Her teachers include Seth Orgel, Eric Ruske, and Edwin Thayer.
Privler has been a member of the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra. She has performed with the Baton Rouge Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, and the Maryland Symphony.
She began her military service in 1995 with the Army Field Band. She performed concerts and clinics with the concert band and brass quintet until 2000.
In 2005, Privler auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. She reported for duty in 2006, following Veterans’ training at Great Lakes. She performs with the marching band, ceremonial band, and wind quintet, and serves as Chief of Band Public Affairs.
