Chief Musician Pat Sarracco
A native of Bethel, Connecticut, Chief Musician Pat Sarracco earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from Indiana University and a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from Northwestern University. His principal teachers include Robert Nagel, Allan Dean, Bernard Adelstein, Edmund Cord, Vincent Cichowicz, and Arnold Jacobs.
Prior to entering the Navy, Sarracco held the position of principal trumpet in the Nova Filarmonia Portuguesa, in Lisbon Portugal, and the Bellevue Philharmonic in Bellevue, Washington. He performed as Guest Principal Trumpet in the UNAM Orchestra in Mexico City, Mexico, and second trumpet in the Tacoma Symphony. Sarracco also served as Adjunct Faculty at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
In 1997, Sarracco auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following recruit training at RTC, Great Lakes, he reported for duty as trumpeter with the marching band and ceremonial units. His collateral duties include Band Historian and Command Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor for USNA.
