Research Interests
Current work focuses on the gas phase reaction kinetics of transition metal atoms with small molecules such as sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and carbon disulfide. Computational studies on these systems are performed to aid in the determination of the reaction mechanism. Rate constants as a function of temperature and total pressure are determined in the experimental work.
The Gaussian 09 suite of programs is used for the computational work. The experimental work is carried out in the chemistry department’s laser lab, which is currently under construction.
