HW 9

Due Friday before class.

Now that we've discussed ethical considerations for 3 different data situations, and you provided an initial summary of your reading, this HW is to expand your summary and write a complete essay discussing your topic. You will turn in a 2 page double-spaced (or 1 page single-spaced) essay, Arial font size 13pt.

You must include the following in your essay:

• A summary of your specific data event and what happened.
• An explanation oof the ethical questions that your event raises.
• Your opinion on whether the actors in your event broke ethical standards.
• A discussion of how these ethical questions also apply to the broader data science community, beyond your specific event.
• Propose a possible ethical framework to help guide future data scientists, or propose a solution if one exists. Your framework/solution can be specific to your event, but must apply to other scenarios as well.

Your grade will be based on its content, but also grammaticality, coherence, and normal readability standards!

Print your essay, staple if necessary, and hand in on Friday before class. Turning in unfastened pieces of paper without a staple is an instant -5%.
