Problem 86

This is the archived version of this course from the Spring 2013 semester. You might find something more recent by visitning my teaching page.

A multiple choice test is given with 100 questions, each of which has 4 options. An unprepared student answers each question with a random response. Calculate the probability that:

- The student passes with 70 or more questions correctly answered, or
- The student "shoots the moon" and answers
*every*question incorrectly.

Which of (a) or (b) is more likely to happen?
