Ishmael and his mother Hagar moved to Mecca where Ishamel and his father Abraham established the sanctuary and rebuilt the Ka'aba. After this, God sent Ishmael as a prophet to the Amalekites and the tribes of Yemen. When the time of Ishmael's death was at hand, he bequeathed to his brother Isaac that he should marry his daughter to Esau son of Isaac. Ishmael lived for 137 years and was buried in al-Hijr in the tomb of his mother Hagar.
