Satellite Reflectance Scattergrams

On  Imagery analysis menu and  Supervised classification

In a scattergram, the reflectance in one band is plotted against the reflectance in another band. If the bands are highly correlated, they will plot close to a straight line. If they are uncorrelated, the points will scatter in a wide fashion on the graph.

Relationship between the reflectance in two bands. Note that one band has a bimodal distribution that is not correlated with the reflectances in the other band. Training sets from Supervised classification.  The training points are shown, and to be in that category, another point must be in the rectangle of the same color. Note that the orange category has a lot of scatter, and many of the training points will not be correctly identified.
