Open Grid/DEM

Select this button on the main program toolbar, or click on menu choice File, Open submenu, Open DEM to bring up the OPEN NEW DEM window.

Navigate to the correct directory. 

Check that the Files of type data entry field is set to the type of DEM you want to read. The default “Any DEM” should work.

Select a single DEM, or multiple DEMs, to load. You can double click on the file name, and click and then hit enter. The computer will read the DEM into memory and display a  map, and the menu bar will change to reflect the options available with a DEM.

• You can merge multiple DEMs on the fly.
• The program directly reads many formats; others must be imported.
• You can open multiple DEMS simultaneously, each in its own window.

Map library can be used to select DEMs and other data via a graphical map interface.
