Wind Reanalysis Data (Climatology)

  Data set created from download at http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/data/reanalysis/reanalysis.shtml using "NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis winds" on Import menu of Data Manipulation form. 

This has monthly u and v (x and y) wind components every 2.5 degrees of latitude and longitude (10512 values in total).  You will probably want to zoom in to a continental size region to use this data set, or thin the data to plot fewer vectors, or adjust the Line multiple to change the size of the vectors.



This is a 40 year average.

• Pick Vector wind, and a single month
• Create plot
• Get copies of w and v wind data files.
• The import code would have to be tweaked.
