Ac. Center resources

The USNA Center for Academic Excellence offers unparalleled resources for supplemental instruction.

  • The Midshipmen Group Study Program (MGSP) provides out-of-class, peer-led group study sessions.  The sessions are regularly scheduled, usually Sunday through Thursday during study hour (2000-2200).
  • Evening tutoring is available on a first-come, first-serve walk-in basis.  Daytime tutoring is available by appointment (appts. can be made via Starfish).  The Ac. Center also holds periodic review sessions, for example around 6 and 12 week exams.  
  • Supplemental instruction courses (XS212P) provide weekly, structured learning support.  They do show up on your Matrix, but have no assigments/exams and can be dropped at any time.  While these courses should probably be a last resort, they are an invaluable resource beyond EI and tutoring.
