Prior to his appointment at the Naval Academy, Levi received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland's Clark School of Engineering (dissertation).

Levi received his bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 2009. From 2010-2014 Levi was a graduate research assistant in the Collective Dynamics and Control Laboratory at the University of Maryland.

Levi's general research interests are in dynamics, control, and sensing for autonomous systems. Specifically, Levi is interested in cooperative control of autonomous multi-vehicle systems, adaptive sampling of spatiotemporal processes with multi-agent groups, and bio-inspired sensing and actuation.
