Nimitz Library News: Spring 2022 II

POSTED ON: Friday, February 25, 2022 12:00 AM by Nimitz Library

Library hours reduced due to staffing shortages

Over the past few months, several staff members have moved on to other positions or retirement leaving the library shorthanded and forcing us to cut back our hours until they can be replaced. Until then, library hours will be:

Mon-Thur 0730-2245
Friday 0730-1600
Saturday Closed
Sunday 1500-2245

There is still help available 24/7 through the research guides on our website and many electronic resources through Nimitz Search. We know these changes will affect many of you, and while there’s little we can do until we hire more staff, we welcome feedback on these changes using this email: library-hours-group@usna.edu

Coming in March: drop-in sessions for Plebes

Attention Plebes: Nimitz Librarians are hosting special drop-in sessions for their Personal Librarian companies in the evenings of March 28-31. You'll have a chance to come talk to your personal librarian with any research questions you have, learn about the librarians who specialize in your major, and have some freshly popped popcorn while you are here! Keep an eye on your email for more details in the coming weeks.

Lunchtime concerts and faculty research talks continue

Our lunchtime performances by the USNA Band and our faculty research talks are off to a great start, and we’ve got several more left on the schedule before it becomes crunch time in the spring semester. Different ensembles grace the library for concerts, while faculty have a chance to highlight their research for an audience of non-experts. All midshipmen, faculty, and staff are invited.

Grab your lunch (or purchase one here) and a friend and join us for these lunchtime events!
