History of the Naval Academy Photo Lab
The U. S. Naval Academy Photo Lab supports the moral, mental and physical development of Midshipmen by providing official photographic service for publications, news releases, historic records, academic support and official portraits.

Description of Contents
The photographs held within Still Pictures/Faculty and Staff: Faculty Awards and Groups, comprising 0.42 linear feet of material, span from 1845 to 1980. The series, consisting primarily of black-and-white photographic prints and negatives, contains group portraits of the Naval Academy's academic departments, as well as images of various awards ceremonies.
In addition to departmental portraits, other groups depicted include the first academic staff of the Academy, as well as African American faculty.
