Midshipmen Black Studies Club

Welcome!

Welcome to the Midshipman Black Studies Club (MBSC) website and thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. Welcome to the family! We are a Midshipman run organization that focuses primarily on the development of African Americans midshipmen at USNA.

Despite this, MBSC is a home for every ethnicity – we welcome anyone to join us! We are dedicated in our mission to help support the Naval Academy in cultivating influential leaders for the Navy and Marine Corps. Once again, thank you for your time and we look forward to providing a home for all to call their "own”.

Our Mission

Our mission, simply put, is to empower future leaders of the Navy and Marine Corps. The purpose of Midshipmen Black Studies Club is to educate the Brigade of Midshipmen in African-American history and culture, provide opportunities for Midshipmen to fellowship and serve with each other, and uplift African-American Midshipmen at USNA through mentorship.

MBSC seeks to foster this fruitful atmosphere through strong mentorship programs, pro-active leadership opportunities, and active community service within the Maryland and Washington D.C. area. In short, MBSC strives to provide a support network for not only the community, but to provide cultural enrichment for the Brigade of Midshipman as well.
