Amateur Radio Club (W3 ADO)
The United States Naval Academy Amateur Radio Club is a membership organization that promotes the use and knowledge of civil radio communication, and also the skills necessary to use that knowledge in a crisis environment. Operating under FCC Part 97 Rules, the ECA acts a forum and organization for the promotion of disaster preparedness and emergency communications procedures. Members develop their communications skills as part of earning federal radio licensing, and act as volunteers as part of a civil emergency communications auxiliary. The ECA also supports fleet operations through the maintenance of the NNN0NNN MARS station. The skills gained as part of participating in this ECA will have a positive impact on professional and academic capabilities.
