About Navy CRU
There are two things we're all about: Jesus and Community.
Let's start with community. Being alone sucks. Everyone on the planet knows what it's like to be alone, and no one likes it. Sometimes even worse than being truly alone though, is being around a whole lot of people and still being alone. Ever been to a party where everyone was talking about the weather, the latest movies, or what they do on the weekends, but no one really cared about the people they were talking to? That's why at Cru we call ourselves a real community. We don't want to fake it. We want to get into each other's lives - to really know, challenge, and help each other as friends. And we want to have a ton of fun doing it!
While probably no one in Cru knows everyone else in Cru, there are so many interconnected groups of close-knit friends that there's a place for everyone to get involved. But we don't stop there. We're not content to just all be a community together. We want our community to grow, which is where our love for Jesus and our natural desire for community come together.
We love Jesus. Plain and simple. We think he's the most awesome person to ever walk the face of the earth. And we think that our relationship with him is more fulfilling than anything else on earth. In fact, we love and enjoy him so much that we want everyone else to have the opportunity to know him too. That's the main reason that we're around. In fact, that's even what our mission statement says. Cru is a community where the gospel captures hearts, transforms lives, and launches men and women into a lifelong adventure with Jesus Christ. Yep, that pretty much says it all.
But enough talk. The best way to get to know us is to come hang out with us. Check out our large group meeting on Tuesday nights. Come to one of the events we have on the weekends. Get involved with one of our small groups. Maybe you too will discover the lasting enjoyment that we all just can't stop talking about...
