Naval Academy Parachute Team to Jump at Army-Navy Lax Game

#027-15 ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Two members of the Naval Academy’s Parachute Team and a former team captain will perform a demonstration jump into Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium just before the 94th Annual Army-Navy Men’s Lacrosse game, Saturday, April 11. Parachute Team President Midshipman 1st Class (senior) Ryan Hill of Mahopac, N.Y., and Midshipman 3rd Class (sophomore) Jacob Best of Onalaska, Wisc., will be making the jump. Hill will “fly in” the flag of the Brigade of Midshipmen and Best will will serve as team captain during the upcoming academic year. Also jumping is Ens. Dan Murphy, a Class of 2013 graduate who served as parachute team captain during his first class year at the academy. Murphy is currently assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 2 in Norfolk, Va.
The USNA Parachute Team is an all-volunteer team of midshipmen skydivers. They perform demonstration skydives and compete against universities from across the nation at the U.S. Parachute Association Collegiate Nationals tournament. The Parachute Team gives midshipmen the opportunity to competitively skydive, develop leadership skills and perform under highly demanding physical environments.
