WOMEN & MINORITIES:
The Class of 2021 includes 327 women (27%) and a total of 451 minority midshipmen (37%).
GEOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION
Midshipmen were admitted from every state in the U.S., as well as the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
The Class of 2021 includes 15 international students from: Egypt (1), Georgia (1), Honduras (1), Madagascar (1), Malaysia (1), Mauritius (1), Mexico (1), Mongolia (1), Palau (2), Panama (1), Peru (1), Philippines (1), Taiwan (1) and Thailand (1).
ALUMNI SONS AND DAUGHTERS:
The Class of 2021 includes 55 sons and 16 daughters of Naval Academy alumni (6%).
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
The Class of 2021 includes 27% from college and post‑high school preparatory programs, which include:
- 202 from Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in Newport, R.I.
- 47 from the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation Program/Civilian Prep Program.
- 83 students have completed at least six months of study at a college or university.
