Congratulations to the Class of 2022 on finishing Sea Trials on Tuesday, May 14, and congratulations to 14th Company on being named this year's Iron Company!
Sea Trials is modeled after the Marine Corps’ Crucible and the Navy’s Battle Stations recruit programs. It is a “capstone” event for the fourth class midshipmen (freshmen or “plebes”) and serves as a leadership opportunity for the Naval Academy upper class who lead the event. Sea Trials provides a final physical and mental challenge to the plebes, designed to test their teamwork and to reinforce their bonds as a company and class.
Sea Trials events included emergency re-supply, shore defense, combat fitness test, military operations, damage control (pipe patching and fire hose handling), aquatic challenges and endurance, water tactics, hill assault, two-mile regimental run, ground fighting, stretcher relay, land navigation, survival skills, athletic combine, tug of war, endurance course, obstacle course, pugil stick jousting, riverine operations, rucksack run and casualty evacuation.
